Y2k Compliant

All new entries to this diary are year 2000 compliant. πŸ˜‰

Well, e-mail to darkstorm.org proved unreliable [as in, I think we’ve lost about 36-48 hours worth of mail down a blackhole], and their tech support proved un-interested so I’ve moved e-mail back to
tagman.demon.co.uk for both myself and Grete.

Would someone kindly donate me a T1 so that I can show people how to run a web/e-mail service and keep your customers happy at the same time.

Glad it’s the weekend – although this week at work was one of the better ones for quite a while to be honest.

Money’s a problem again I wish I had more control over my own spending urges.

Quick entry

Hello, a quick diary entry at 3am. We did do MERP, it was excellent, I’ve started an on-line MERP diary thing, here.

I’ve been playing with some software which can take photo’s from our Fuji camera and then upload it to the web, you can see the results here, BladeCam. When I’m online and feeling like it, it takes
photo’s every few minutes, the javascript window refreshes every thirty seconds.

Once again we’re up very late, playing with our new 0800 Internet Access πŸ˜‰ Won’t save us any money though, since we use it even more during the week, and that’s at normal rate, but, it feels like we’re on holiday πŸ˜‰

Another day

Another day, another diary entry.

Why do I always feel so tired! Probably because I’m terribly unfit and unhealthy, but I don’t want the truth, I want nice soft illusion.

Hopefully we’ll be roleplaying again this coming Thursday – picking up the MERP campaign where we left it – once we’ve all worked out where we left it that is.

Intolerance

I hate intolerant people, and what I hate most, is when they make me become intolerant, because then I have to hate myself, and there’s enough of that going on already.

Random stuffage

Finally recovered from the LRP experience πŸ˜‰ Planning the next one.

I’m wondering about how the photo’s are laid out in the Eolas and JAGW sites. Not sure if I can come up with a better method, that doesn’t involve ‘too’ much work, but I’ll keep thinking.

Haven’t done any roleplaying for ages – hopefully will be playing some more with Tony and Ness this coming Monday, and with any luck, we’ll get back into regular sessions with Andy, Chris and Christine once Autumn/Winter sets in.

Gathering too

I’m still knackered! We went to The Gathering again this year (Live Action Roleplaying event in Derby), and it was pretty hard work, not just the carrying of tents, but the fighting and wandering about takes it out of you. Was excellent fun though.

Back to work – hoping to win the lottery this weekend.

The 40% bracket

Well, another update in the same month, not bad eh πŸ˜‰ I’ve been messing about with websites again, and have knocked this one together – JAGW – because I want somewhere to put all our Gathering photos. There are some corkers of Grete πŸ˜‰ She’ll kill me later.

I’ve decided I resent work. Not for any specific reason associated with where I work, but simply because spending half of my life earning profit for someone else, and suffering the stress, is not a good thing[tm] and I should be doing something else. Of course, there isn’t anything else I can do, since I lack courage and a driving license. Still, it’s nice to know I’ve decided.

The Omega event went well, all the gory details are here – Lorgaire De Eolas website – some people might suggest I have too much time on my hands outside of work, which isn’t true, I just resent going to bed early and so find things to do which keep me up after midnight.

The car seems to be going ok [kiss of death] although it still needs a service.

I wonder if anyone ever reads this – am I doing this for you, or me I wonder.

The Gathering edges ever closer – more Live Action Roleplaying.

I’m on call all next week, extra money, extra stress, extra fun? Then I’m on call for most of September, and then one week in four after that. The money will be useful, no doubts about that, although it might move me into the 40% bracket πŸ™ But is it worth it? I dunno, I’ll find out. I’ve kind of volunteered to do it, so I can’t complain yet πŸ˜‰

Blue Hair

I know, I know, it’s over a month since the last update! Lots has happened.

o We’ve bought a car, white ford escort, automatic, 1.6. It does the job.
o We’ve upgraded the PC’s to PII 400’s.
o We’re going to another two live action events in August (Omega one and the Gathering). For these, Grete has dyed her hair blue, it doesn’t look too vivid inside under the flash, but it will be once it’s outside. At the moment, these are the only two photo’s, more to come when we go adventuring … Front shot, Side shot.

That’s about everything I think for the moment, life is all rather complex as usual, and money is doing odd things, but we’ll work it out. I will update this before the end of August, I promise.

Glasses

Well, Grete got some new glasses today, so I thought I’d take a quick snap with the digi-cam and let you see ’em! Much smaller frames than she’s used to, but I think they look very nice.
