A sweet and very funny emotionally engaging right of passage movie.
Equilibrium
A better than average sci-fi action movie that presents an interesting premise and some impressive gun fights, but make sure you bring heavy amounts of suspension of disbelief, you’ll need them.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
It was never going to be easy to turn the Hitchhiker’s Guide into a movie and while it was a decent attempt there are too many changes and not enough laughs to make this a true classic.
The Blues Brothers
Hard to define, impossible to explain, The Blues Brothers is a cult classic that you have to watch to appreciate.
Lethal Weapon
A classic movie which is as watchable today as it was in 1987, Lethal Weapon defines the buddy-cop action-comedy genre and is still top of the class over 20 years on.
Resident Evil
Considering the source material and what was asked of the actors, I found Resident Evil to be watchable and enjoyable despite the many flaws, in a world of horrific game-to-movie conversions Resident Evil keeps it’s head just above the sludge.
The Golden Child
While not being rated as highly as some of Murphy’s work, personally I enjoyed The Golden Child and found it entertaining and different to the movies around at the time, having said that it might not hold up well after 23 years.
Coming to America
A decent John Landis comedy which aims to be no more than a feel-good comedy and delivers just about exactly that.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
Beyond Thunderdome is the weakest of the three Max movies but is still worth watching, too many cute moments and forced situations decrease the impact of the otherwise engaging story.
Mad Max 2
Another excellent outing for Mad Max this time showing us the complete breakdown of order and the power of oil; with an increase in the comic element providing some light relief, Mad Max 2 is easier viewing than the first movie but no less entertaining.
