Truly Naughty Troop Newsletter – Edition 8 – 24th March 2004

These posts are archives of forum / blog entries I made on my EverQuest guild website. The website won’t be around forever, and I wanted the posts all in one place so I didn’t lose them, this blog seemed like as good a place as any.

1. Introduction

Another week on, more levels gained, more mobs whacked, more corpses summoned, and rumours of WoW on the horizon. I was on holiday last week, and conseqently played a hell of a lot of EQ, even if I did spend most of it sitting around doing nothing, sadly back to work this week, so less EQ and more real life for me.

I was thinking about another section in future newsletters, called 'Favourite Zones', which is about your favourite zones, and why :) Feel free to send a few lines about your favourite EQ zone, whether current (i.e. somewhere you hunt now) or past (somewhere you hunted and have fond memories of). Just send them to this e-mail address tnt-newsletter@darkstorm.co.uk

Major patch on EQ yesterday, very long outage, and you're now required to have DirectX9 to play the game.

The newsletter is not a replacement for the board, and more often than not will just summarise something and provide a link - so, go sign up and take part - pub21.ezboard.com/btrulynaughtytroop

You've already signed up to get the newsletter, obviously ;) , but I'd like to encourage you to get your guild-mates to sign up as well. The more folk signed up the better. E-mail addresses will be kept private, and will only be used to send out this newsletter on a weekly basis, so it's safe to sign up. Spread the word!

If you feel like contributing something to the newsletter, or have any feedback on it, please drop me a mail at tnt-newsletter@darkstorm.co.uk and I'll see what I can do.

2. News

Chardok Rampage - well it was an event to remember. The Troop took on Chardok, to get Belkhanu's epic drop. We didn't get it - but we did have 8 hours of fun, two corpse runs, and some memorable moments. We averaged about 6 mobs in the camp at any one time, got lost twice, went hunting for auto-follow-corpses a few times, picked up some weird aggro, and wiped twice. But boy it was fun. We also got a bunch of spells, research words and various bits of mid-level loot. Thanks to everyone who came and stayed relaxed.

DING! - Famanes hit 60 this week, congratulations!

[Know someone who dinged something significant? Let me know - I'm not always on (no, honestly) so sometimes don't get to see dingage]

3. Upcoming Events

Return of the (Over)King - Saturday 3 April - 11am AST/12pm PST/3pm EST/8pm GMT - Chardok Revenge for Belkhanu's Epic drop. The time stated is when the raid will leave the OT stone in PoK to make their way to Chardok, so if you're coming along, be there about 15 minutes before that please. We had a blast last time, should be a fun outing - sign up here pub21.ezboard.com/ftrulyn...=171.topic

9. Feedback

Please feel free to send all feedback about this newsletter to tnt-newsletter@darkstorm.co.uk.

Let me know if you'd like to see any additional sections or content, and if you have any content to contribute. The best way to get content into the newsletter, is to post it to the boards, and I'll pick it up. If you like, send me a pointer requesting it be added, but the board is the first place you should stick it :)

If you would like to stop receiving the newsletter, or would like to change your e-mail address, or any other administrative mail should also be sent to tnt-newsletter@darkstorm.co.uk - please remember to include your character name and e-mail address.

You can also send me a tell in game as Gnomtrix if I'm on.
